Donetsk Regional Museum of Local Lore is a local history museum of Donetsk region, one of the oldest and largest museums in Ukraine. In August 2014, it suffered significant damage as a result of shelling by pro-Russian militants. The museum was evacuated to the territory controlled by the Ukrainian authorities. Currently, the main focus is on the establishment of research, scientific and stock, methodological work and work on the protection of monuments of archeology, history and culture.
