Volyn Museum of Local Lore is the main museum of the Volyn region, the largest and oldest of the existing museums in Volyn. Opened on June 16, 1929 in the city. Lutsk as Volyn Museum. On the basis of the institution in 1940, a regional historical and local history museum was organized. During the Second World War, the museum's collection suffered significant losses, but already in 1944, immediately after the expulsion of the Nazi invaders from the territory of the Volyn region, the museum resumed its work as the Volyn State Historical and Local Lore Museum. On August 17, 1985, the Volyn Museum of Local Lore was opened in a new room located in the center of Lutsk. ‍
