The exposition of the museum presents personal belongings of Strazhesko, rare editions of his works, real photographs, materials of research carried out more than 70 years ago. The excursion will tell about the last stage of the life of the scientist, elected in 1943 as a full member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR. In 1952, the old academician was confronted with the fact - or support of the charges against his student V. Vasilenko, arrested in the “case of doctors”, or deprivation of all benefits and, how to know, possibly more serious consequences. It is not known what a totalitarian government would do with the luminary of medicine, but from his last trip to Moscow in the summer of 1952, Strazhesko returned internally broken. A few days later, he died of a heart attack, a disease with which he had fought all his life. The museum gives an idea not only about the professional activity and civic position of the scientist, but also about him as a person, a collector, a true representative of the classical intelligentsia. Strazhesko loved and appreciated music, knew the latest theatrical novelties. His collection of paintings by famous artists - Aivazovsky, Vasnetsov, Polenov, Repin, Surikov, was a museum-level collection.
