St. Andrew's Church is a monument of history, architecture, painting and decorative art of the 18th century of world importance. It was built in 1747-1762 in the Baroque style according to the project of Francesco Bartolomeo Rastrelli. Among the sacred monuments built according to the project of the architect F.-B. Rastrelli, the interiors of most of which have been partially preserved, and the original decoration has not survived at all, or has reached us in small fragments, St. Andrew's Church has preserved not only the authentic architectural forms and the largest percentage of the exterior decoration, but also in its entirety has been brought up to Today has its own interior decoration, which is a perfect example of the Orthodox church interior in the Baroque style.A joint creation of the brilliant architect F.-B. Given the extraordinary value of the monument, our state submitted proposals for the inclusion of St. Andrew's Church in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
