Water Information Center (unofficial name Museum of Water [2] [3]) is an information center in Kyiv, opened on May 24, 2003 in the buildings of the first Kiev centralized water main, built in 1872 and 1876 according to the design of the architect Alexander Shile. The purpose of the center is to improve the awareness of the population regarding values water resources and deepening awareness of the importance of their conservation and rational use. The exposition of the center tells about the role of water in nature and people's lives, about the history of Kyiv water main, technology of water purification and transportation to the consumer, drainage and wastewater treatment. Also in the exposition there is a playground. The water and information center is one of the most visited establishments in Kiev. The millionth visitor visited the center on April 2, 2011, [2] and as of March 23, 2014, the center was visited by more than 1.4 million visitors from 107 countries. In April 2014, the institution received 1.5 million visitors.
