Kyiv Literary and Memorial Museum-Apartment Nikolay Bazhan was opened on October 26, 2004 in the apartment where the famous Ukrainian poet, translator, and public figure Mykola Bazhan lived for about forty years. By the will of his wife N. IN. Bazhan-Lauer it was in this room that a museum was created.
The memorial part of the museum recreates the atmosphere in which Nikolai Bazhan lived and worked. The wife of the writer N. IN. Bazhan-Lauer kept the apartment as it was during the life of the owner. Today, visitors to the museum can inspect the office, living room, art room and other rooms of the writer, see his personal belongings, feel the atmosphere of those years.
The literary part of the exposition highlights the life and creative path of M. Desirable: his genealogical roots, family circle, stages of creative and civic formation in the vortex of turbulent, dramatic events of the beginning of the 20th century, the era of totalitarian regime, strict military everyday life, post-war reconstruction of the country.
The exposition presents life editions of the artist's poems, manuscripts, his translations of works by masters of world literature, photos from films shot according to his scripts, documents, government honors, etc.

Among the most valuable museum exhibits is the library of Nikolai Bazhan, which contains more than 8 thousand books, the first edition of the poet's works, unique photos, works of painting and decorative arts, etc. The exposition of the museum contains a unique collection of thick glass — antique, Russian and Western European, Kosiv ceramics, Mezhygorsk faience and majolica. The collection of fine art includes paintings by Ukrainian masters Kateryna Bilokur, Ivan Trush, Vasily Krychevsky, Sergey Vasilkovsky, Yakov Hnizdovsky, Nikolai Pymonenko, Mikhail Deregus, Russian artists Ilya Repin, Vasily Polenov, Konstantin Trutovsky, works of famous Western European masters of the XVII—XVIII centuries, engravings of the XVIII and XX centuries, Central Asian miniatures of the XVIII — XIX centuries.
The exposition and fund collection of the museum help to reveal more deeply the multifaceted figure of Nikolai Bazhan and the era in which the writer lived and worked.

Memorial apartment M.Bezhana is located in the same building as the museum-apartment of P. Tychyny, at m. Kyiv, str. Tereshchenkivska, 5, sq. 5.
