Book Museum in Lubart Castle

The Book Museum in Lutsk was opened in September 2005 in a building on the castle courtyard, which was originally the county treasury (treasury).

The book collection is a gift of Bishop Bartholomew, Archbishop of Rivne and Ostroh UOC. The main part of it is old prints, the oldest of which is 366 years old! This Service Gospel was published in Lviv in 1644. Another rarity is the two-volume Trebnik of Metropolitan Peter Mohyla, a famous spiritual, political and cultural figure of Ukraine. Of particular importance is added to Trebnik by the fact that it was published during the life of the Metropolitan — in 1646. In total, the exposition presents the products of six printing houses.

On the basis of the pictorial material and real models in the museum, you can trace the entire technological process of the former printing. As a visual indication to the attention of visitors, the current model is the reconstruction of the machine of the fifteenth century, the times of the first draftsmen of Europe. Among the exhibits are editions of Lviv, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Vilnius, Pochaev, Moscow, Nuremberg, Poznan XVII - post. XIX century
