Khmelnitsky Museum-Studio of Photographic Art

Khmelnitsky Museum-Studio of Photographic Art was opened on September 7, 2010 in the premises of the historical architectural monument of the city. This three-story house is a fine example of the late modern architectural style that dominated the early 20th century. To this day, all the original plastic forms of the facade, openwork forged balconies, decorative decoration of the walls with stained glass-smalt have been preserved. Proskurov merchant Naftula Wasserman, a well-known dealer in haberdashery and a generous philanthropist, took over its arrangement. With his own funds, Wasserman built a three-story hotel building in 1910 — 12 years, which he called the “Continental”. The hotel had 3 “luxury” apartments, 5 “first class” rooms, electric lighting and, most importantly, hot water supply. At that time there was no water in the city at all.
