Historical and archaeological museum “Ancient Aratta — Ukraine”

The Eastern-Archaeological Museum “Pradavnya Aratta — Ukraine” is a private archaeological museum located in the village of Trypillli on the banks of the Dnieper near Divich-Gora, on the site of excavations of ancient Trypillian culture [1]. The museum was founded by collector Oleksandr Polishchuk, architect Vladimir Lazorenko, artist Anatoly Gaydamaka and historian and writer Yuri Shilov [2], known for his alternative version of stories not recognized among the scientific community.The only private museum of Trypillian culture in the world. Participant of world conferences and exhibitions [3]. The museum is named after the country of Aratta, which is mentioned in the Sumerian chronicles, and which Yuri Shilov considers to be located on the territory of modern Ukraine. [1] In 2012, the museum was closed to visitors. According to the director, this was done due to a change in the owner of the buildings [4]. As of June 2017, it continued to be closed [2]. The exposition of the museum consists of more than 500 objects, the basis of which is the private collection of Polishchuk [1] [2], divided into two themes:On the second floor in two halls there are objects of everyday life and tools from the times of the Trypili culture [1], collected in the territory from the Black Sea to the Danube, on the right bank of Ukraine, Moldova and Romania. The age of the items is 5-9 thousand years [3]. In the two halls of the first floor there are household items and tools, Easter eggs, embroidered shirts of Ukrainians of the 19th — early 20th centuries [1]. In the courtyard of the museum, a two-storey dwelling of wood and clayhas been recreated at the time of its operation, it received more than 200 thousand visitors.
