Kamenska Sich is the administrative and military center of the Zaporizhzhya Cossacks. It was located at the mouth of the Kamenka River on the right bank of the Dnieper. Founded after the destruction by the tsarist troops of Chortomlicka Sich, it was active in 1709—1711.
It was created with the aim of preserving the genetic, species, landscape and ecosystem diversity of the steppes of the right bank of the Dnieper, other natural complexes and objects of important environmental, scientific, aesthetic, recreational and health importance.
The territory of the national natural park includes 12261.14 hectares of state owned land, namely: 6013,241 hectares of state-owned land granted to the national natural park in permanent use, including with withdrawal from land users, and 6247,899 hectares of state owned land included in its territory without seizure from land users. The park is located in the Beryslav district of the Kherson region. It consists of the lands of Kachkarivska, Milovskaya, Novokairsk, Chervonomayatsk and Novoraya village councils. The park was created on the basis of 2 large beams - Kamenskaya and Milivska, and also included the terrace of the Dnieper River between the villages of Krasny Mayak and Kachkarivka, adjacent to the beams and terraces of the placer section, the water area of the Kakhovsky reservoir and the bottom of the beams flooded by it.
