Luhansk
Volodymyra Dalia street, 12
The museum was founded on November 22, 1986 on the street where the future lexicographer was born. For a long time it was assumed that Vladimir Dahl could have been born in this house, however, there is no reliable data on this. The exposition of the museum is represented by personal belongings and household items of Vladimir Dahl and his family. The museum contains a complete collection of Dahl's works in 10 volumes, dated 1897—1898, rare lithographs, a collection of editions of Dahl's Explanatory Dictionary. In addition, the museum funds store the literary works of the writer, published during 1836—1855, as well as his scientific works. A small room is also devoted to the connection of Vladimir Dal with his homeland - he lived in Ukraine for almost 20 years: up to 4 years - at the Luhansk Plant, later in Nikolaev.
