A complex of historical and monumental art monuments and a museum dedicated to the events of the Great Northern War and the Battle of Poltava. In 1981, the State Historical and Cultural Reserve “Poltava Battle Field” with a total area with a protected area of 720 hectares was declared. The complex of monuments “Poltava Battle Field” (23 monuments in total) is listed in the State Register of Immovable Monuments of Ukraine as an object of history of national importance (security number 160009-N) [1]. On the territory of the reserve there are archaeological monuments - 30 ancient mounds and 4 settlements. At different times, important events took place on the historical field in their consequences. Some researchers claim that it was here that the episode of the battle between the troops of Grand Duke Vitovets of Lithuania and the Horde khan Temir-Kutluy (1399) took place. Probably, in this area there was a battle between the soldiers of the hetman of Ukraine I.Vygovsky and the Poltava colonel M.Pushkar (1658). Here took place the Poltava battle of 1709 and the grandiose operation of the Second World War “Frantik” (1944). The reserve is an important scientific and methodological center and an interesting tourist location of Poltava region. It is visited by tourists from all continents of the planet. Europeans are especially interested in the events of the Great Northern War, because among its participants were the ancestors of modern Swedes, Russians, Ukrainians, Finns, Norwegians, Danes, Germans, Poles, Turks, Moldovans, Belarusians, English, Lithuanians, Estonians, Latvians, Czechs, Romanians, French.
