The museum was created in 1980, as the Museum of Clement Voroshilov. The collection numbered about 36 thousand items, which belonged to the Voroshilov family.On December 14, 1990, the Voroshilov Museum was repurposed into the Museum of History and Arts of Lugansk. The museum has two branches: the Vladimir Dahl Literary Museum and the Museum-Apartment of Vladislav Titov.Now the collection of the National Museum counts more than 50 thousand items.
