The museum shows the history of the publication of the poet's work, the sources of his work, the most interesting publications, traces the evolution of the illustration of Shevchenko's works, as well as “Kobzar” in translations into the languages of the peoples of the world. In the museum, the collection of publications is exhibited accompanied by documents and materials in the context of events. about this or that edition. In addition, the institution is well decorated with wood, which harmoniously combines with the exposition, only adding to the atmosphere of silence and coziness. Actually “Kobzar”, as the whole world knows it now, did not develop immediately. The first edition was carried out in St. Petersburg in 1840 with the assistance of Eugene Hrebinka. This “Kobzar” then included only 8 works by Taras Shevchenko: “Perebendya”, “Catherine”, “Ivan Pidkova”, “Poplar”, “Thought”, “To Osnovyanenko”, “Tarasova night” and the poem “My thoughts, my thoughts”, which was written specially for this collection, it is as if an epigraph not only to this edition, but also to all the work of T.G. Shevchenko. The release of this “Kobzar”, even curtailed by the tsarist censorship, is an event of great literary and national importance.
