Museum of Folk Architecture and Life of Middle Nadnepryanskaya Oblast

Museum of Folk Architecture and Life of Middle Nadnepr Oblast is an open-air museum located in the vicinity of Pereyaslav. It is part of the National Historical and Ethnographic Reserve “Pereyaslav”. The museum presents both the Ukrainian village of the Middle Dnieper region of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, as well as buildings and parking lots from the late Paleolithic to the times of Kievan Rus. On the territory of 30 hectares there are 13 thematic museums, which are an organic continuation of the museum-village. The museum introduces the folk culture, architecture and creativity, customs and rituals of Ukrainians in the Middle Dnieper region. To the attention of visitors 122 monuments of folk architecture, more than 30 thousand monuments of material and spiritual culture.On the territory of the museum there are 185 objects, of which 104 monuments of folk architecture of the XVII—XIX centuries, including 20 courtyards with cottages and outbuildings, 23 various works and workshops, more than 20 thousand works of people art, tools, household items collected in the forest-steppe zone of Ukraine. The decoration of the museum are two man-made ponds, an arboretum with tens of thousands of trees and shrubs, carefully manicured courtyards and vegetable gardens.
