Obukhiv Museum of Local Lore was created thanks to amateurs of local antiquity, ethnography and fame (famous compatriots). The first director of the institution was V.V. Culinich. After that, the museum was headed for a long time by Honored Worker of Culture of Ukraine Yuri Domotenko, who made a lot of efforts to create, develop and popularize the museum. During its existence, the institution did not change its location, the local authorities decided to place the institution in a modern building, in particular on the 3rd floor, next to the house of culture in the center cities (str. Kyivska, 14), which also houses the Department of Culture, Nationalities and Religions of the Executive Committee of the Obukhiv City Council, the Central Public Library [1] for adults and the children's library. The museum held art competitions named after him. Brothers Gnipiv, archaeological and historical studies of all settlements of Obukhov region, local literature is published. Thus, the tourist guide “Trails of the Transnistria” has been prepared, which presents the attractive places of this route, and for the 85th anniversary of the famous obukhovik poet Andriy Malyshko (1997) a color guide-album “Malyshkiv Krai” was created [2]. A tourist route through the picturesque Malyshkova Obukhiv region has also been developed, work is underway on the development and opening of tourist routes “Kievan Rus”, “Archaeological Research of Hvoika”, “Cossack”. The working area of the museum is 592 m², local history expositions are distributed in 11 exhibition halls.
