The open-air museum in the city of Uzhgorod (Ukraine), consists of architectural monuments of the ancient Transcarpathian village and samples of the oldest and most widespread types of folk art. Began to be created in 1965, opened to visitors in June 1970, occupies an area of 5.5 hectares, located near the territory of Uzhgorod Castle. The museum presents samples of dwellings and manors of Transcarpathian lowland areas (Valynians, Romanians and Hungarians), as well as of mountaineers (boyks and Hutsuls). The open-air museum houses 7 estates, 6 residential buildings, a church, a bell tower, a school, a forge, a mill, an inn. The museum houses more than 14 thousand exhibits.
